Yup, because you can still comment on style, characterizations, plotting,
grammar, and so forth, all of which are good feedback to a writer.  Knowing
the particular universe that someone has chosen is nice, but really not
needed.  Think of all the regular fiction stories. When a writer creates a
new world, you haven't seen it before, but you can still comment on those
aspects that attracted or repelled you, ne?
