In the Fanfic no one else has yet expressed interest in him.
In real Ranma... Ranma I would say does *LIKE* Ukyou and Shampoo, but he
doesn't *LOVE* them.  Ukyou is Ranma's best friend while Shampoo is just a
friend (when she's not being a pest).

Kodachi is the only girl Ranma has never been able to tolerate.

Out of the girls.....who is the most advanced and talented in the martial 
arts area?.....Akane, Ukyou, Kodachi, Shampoo,....etc

Shampoo has the widest range of skills, but Ukyou and Kodachi are as good
with their specialities as Shampoo is with any of her techniques.
Akane looks to have a wider range of skills than Ukyou or Kodachi, but
isn't as good with them as they are in their chosen area.

Why is it that no one really ever tries to fight Akane....everyone sort 
of avoids it....they block but never really attact...maybe except Shampoo....

Akane is the chosen of Takahashi...  besides there isn't a lot of benefit
in fighting Akane, it only gets Ranma mad at you.

Is Akane really good ...or is she viewed this way because no one really 
tries to beat her?

Akane is good.  At the start of the series she had been beating Kunou
regularly, not to mention the mob she dealt with every morning.

Akane just hasn't gotten any better since the start of the series while
everyone else has gotten much better.

Why does Ranma avoid physically fighting with Akane when he easily does 
so with other girls?????

He could hurt her if he struck back.  Ranma (especially the male Ranma) is
a *LOT* stronger than Akane.

Besides, it actually takes a fair bit of provocation to make Ranma fight
any girl.
