I'm kinda trying to develop idea 2 at the moment, but since I haven't seen
that much anime, I wouldn't be surprised if there were better odd couples
out there (er.. anybody in the BGC universe? Sailor Moon? Um... forget I
said Sailor Moon...)

BGC... Didn't Priss & Linna live together at some point?

No. If you're thinking of BGC3 (Priss washing Linna's dishes), that was
Linna's charge for feeding Priss dinner (Priss gave her original dinner away
to the little boy, Sho). Linna even says something about feeding Priss, and
how she's ungrateful, and wants her to clean her house too... :)

Are you sure? Wasn't Priss low on funds at the time?

It's possible that she was broke, but if that's the case she doesn't mention
it. And if she was broke, why would she (apparently) go buy a burger at a
fast food place to bring home for dinner?

You might be thinking of BGC 4, after the 'war game' at Survival Shot. The
losers (Linna and Priss) buy dinner for everyone. Afterward, Priss is
riding her bike and muttering about how she's already broke for the month
and the dinner really set her back. This is just before she runs into the
Gryphon chasing the Outriders.

BTW - going back to BGC 3 for a second, that has one of my all-time favorite
funny BGC scenes in it. The scene BETWEEN Priss giving Sho her burger and
Priss doing dishes for Linna features Sylia wandering around her dark
apartment dressed in a towel. Anyway, watch closely when she sits down on
the edge of her bed to watch the TV news. The bedsheets slide and Sylia
almost falls off the bed. <g>
