   [ nice chapter ]

Author's note: I'm a bit pressed for time this weekend; I've got
two midterms next week, and I haven't really started studying yet...
This part does not resemble what I'd planned; the characters and
their situations sort of took over. It's going to take me at least three
chapters to write what I thought would take one. Oh, well.

A sign of a good story.

A warning: the "reality breaking down" element has the potential of
making this story even more confusing. I think I see you in danger of
falling into a trap I myself have tangled with before: being overly
clever, to the point were others can't follow your creation without
being inside your head.

At the very least, after you finish the inital version, you (or
someone else) should go over it with an eye towards adding hints,
clues, a few simplifications, etc., so that others can get the full
enjoyment out of this story that it deserves.
