On a plain text display, it's usually 80 characters per line.  Keep the 
longest lines between 70 and 80 characters, and you'll be all set.

an external viewer...and notepad totally sucks, I'm not using WordPad
either(it's a terrible applet, doesn't even support drag and drop file
operations from long-file-named directories.)

If you're looking for a program to view fanfics with while in Windows 3.1x
(probably works in Win95 too) look for a sharware program called

"SuperPad". It's like Notepad but can handle much bigger documents and can
convert from a fair number of formats to .TXT format. I found it on a local
bulletin board. Check it out!

I'd really like to.  Is SuperPad available anywhere on FTP?
