Fun story... and upbeat, too (Akane and Ranma just met, and they
_like_ each other?!? Cool!). Obviously you changed a lot of the
"standard" background, and that's fine, but why'd you change the relative
ages of the Tendo girls? And where did Ranma get the idea that girls
can't be mechwarriors? Tell that to Natasha Kerensky and you're toast...
Oh, and what year did this take place in the Battletech universe?

Thanks for the comments White-Robed Mathematician! This was the
first fanfic I have posted and I was worried about how well it would be
recieved. ^_^
The real reason for the changes in the ages of the Tendo girls is
that I couldn't really remember the exact ages and I didn't have any
reference material handy when I was writing it. -_- Seriously though, when I
post the final revised bit, I intend on making the necessary changes to
their respective ages.
As for Ranma's idea that "girls make lousy mechwarriors" I needed
something to spice up the bit to get him and Akane fighting like they
usually do. I considered a number of possiblities, but I thought Ranma
making a joke aoubt Akane's, femininety (as opposed to her fighting ability)
was the best way.
I SWEAR ON EVERY HOLY OBJECT IN THIS WORLD THAT I AM _NOT_ SEXIST!!!!!!!!
In truth, I play Mechwarrior II 31st Century Combat and know several girls
who play it as well. As much as I am ashamed to admit it (not!) most of
them can kick my butt in less than a minute.
I am not sure about the year, but I am shooting for about a year to
six months before the clan invasion.
Thanks again.
