I liked it because the story line was easy to follow, the characters
were likeable and the animation was very, *very* good (IMO).

And you're right aboutmy not having seen enough anime, but I will
soon recitify that ^_^

*And* after seeing "Ninja Scroll" I think that the "old guardian/guider/
mentor" is a character type that anime can't shake itself of.
