I thought it was her untapped memory/potential, come on the Moon Kingdom 
was probably way ahead in science from where the world is today. So for 
Usagi/Serenity to be a good future ruler she must have been tutored in 
many areas.  So maybe her subconscious memories of schooling came out at 
the end as directed guesses to the correct answers to save her butt. Of 
course we are talking about a person who has amazingly survived several 
(monster of the season) attacks despite herself, okay maybe she did get 
VERY lucky AGAIN.

	My take on this is yes, Usagi is actually a pretty bright girl, 
but she doesn't like to be one.  She doesn't like being Sailor Moon, the 
Moon Princess, or anything like that.  All she really wants is to be a 
'normal' girl.  That she fights monsters at all shows that she does have 
a sense of duty and responsibility.  But, becuase she wants to be normal 
and not stand out, she tries too hard to be a slacker and fails 
everything :)  Not that she consciously understands that this is waht she 
is doing, of course.
	John and I have plans for an episode where the Sailors will show 
some knowledge of the Moon Kingdom in class, but I don't think it will 
help their grades much. :)
