   (Kent's face suddenly twists in pain as he splits into two people.  The
new person speaks:)
   David:  You *are* a sig, Kent.  I'm the author.  You just happen to be my
alter ego.
   Kent:  But that means...
   David:  Adam *could* erase you, but I'd be a bit irritated about losing
my alter ego, so I doubt he'll try.  Now let's get back together.
   (Kent and David merge again.)
   Kent:  But I don't want to be a sig.  Sigs are at the total mercy of
their authors.  It's hell being a sig.
