Just my opinion, but it didn't sound like hate in the story... It's
possible in Shampoo to hit such a point.  It's tragic. It's sad.  But it's
not unrealistic, considering her attitude in life and towards life.
*smiles*  It may sound cruel, but then again, not every ending is all nice
and rosy... there are some dead ends and sad snippages.  This is one.
