So, I'll give you a topic:  which is worse, plot problems but
exceptional characterization, or a great plot but bad
character writings?  Discuss. 
Good point.  Screw the plot, it's characters that make the story.  (Yes,
if you can include a good plot also, that's great, but don't sweat it.)
     I'm curious, though. Does this apply to non-fanfic stories as well?
With a fanfic, we're expecting the characters to behave a certain way,
while in an original story, there's no expectation (usually).
