*wince* My sympathies. I once made the mistake of carrying an American
press card through the Chinese border _without_ telling the guards about
it beforehand.....not a fun 8 hours.
I've been thru Customs for Japan and China, and the most intimidating
experience for me was going thru Customs at the main airport in Moscow. The
airport is full of members of the Red Army, armed with these rather large
rifles. The guys in the Customs booths are also Red Army, near as I could
tell. They are supposedly looking at your passport/visa, but all they do is
thumb thru the papers while staring at you. Quite intimidating.
