These were written over the space of about five days. They do
refer to events in episodes six and seven of El Hazard, so if you
haven't seen them yet... avoid reading these. Unless you really want
to.

The first one is based on the last couple of stills that occur
during the closing credits of episode seven, and isn't much more than
a brief scene with neither beginning nor end. The second piece is a
lemon, and is just a "what-if" situation...

He sighed. "Eleven years it took me. Eleven years of study and
experimentation to find how to return here, for you." He held her
tighter in his arms. "But... ten thousand years you waited. I can't
even imagine it. I... I'm sorry... for making you wait."

She shook her head slightly. "It was... like being asleep. I
could... `feel' time passing, but very distantly, like in a dream. I
knew, from your memories, that you would be here to awaken me. To
meet you again was all I had been waiting for."

She felt tears running slowly down her cheeks. "When you freed
me from _him_... when you gave me those memories at the Eye of God...
when you appeared in front of me out in the schoolyard... each moment
I thought was my happiest." Her voice faded to a whisper, her tears
now flowing freely. "But being here with you, right now, I... now...
now I'm happy."

He bent his head down to put his cheek against hers, his tears
mingling with hers. His voice matched her whisper. "For you, I would
wait ten thousand thousand years."

My commentaries

The language: Yes, I know it's rather "stilted", but this story,
like about three-quarters of all my writing I've done since school,
forced itself on me. I don't really choose how these things work
out... most of the time these are written in my head as I try to
sleep, or in other situations when my mind drifts.

Lack of beginning or end: Partially the same explanation as
above. The other reason is.... I don't do them well. Working on
individual scenes is what I'm best at.

Reason for this? If you know me well on AnimeMuck, you probably
have an idea. Combine that with watching the end of El Hazard and you
end up with someone in a very fragile state. (Read: crying her eyes
out.) (Anyone who claims all muck marriages are a big joke deserve
@toading.) Writing this here during my first R.L. vacation in about
four years is helping me recover. (And simply writing this on paper
is a big help by itself.)

(96/6/10. Yes, written _before_ I "finished" the actual story.)

====================================================================

A bit more on why the above piece is so unfinished: I didn't
feel I needed to write any more. Call it annoyingly self-indulgent if
you like, I did this more for my own sanity than anything else.

As for the next piece.... if demanded some kind of completion (no
pun intended.) Skip it if you want, but there's a whack more of my
commentary at the end of it.

2.

They sat together in her darkened room, the only light a faint
glow from a streetlight outside, filtered by heavy curtains. Shoulder
to shoulder, hip to hip, he held her hand in his, both silent.

"I've never-" she began, then stopped.

"I don't know-" she tried again, and stopped.

"I was created to be a weapon. This is.... new...." she burst
out, before her voice trailed off.

"I-" He, too, stopped, and swallowed nervously. "To be with you
forever... is all I've dreamed of for years. Being here with you,
now, is...." He shook his head. "I... don't have the words for it.
Words _couldn't_ describe it."

He turned his head toward her slightly. "Are you sure? I
mean... about this?"

She turned to him, their faces just inches apart. "Yes, I am
sure." Leaning to him slightly, she closed her eyes, and touched her
lips to his.

They moved apart slightly, and stood together. Hands shaking, he
slowly began undressing her. Piece by piece, fabric dropped with a
whisper to the floor.

With the last of her clothing removed, she moved to the bed and
climbed in, pulling the covers nearly to her chin.

His grip fumbling, he removed his clothes in a hurry, letting
each item collapse in an untidy heap. Moving quickly to join her in
bed, his excitement showed plainly.

Lying side-by-side, they looked at each other, both their
nervousness and their love plainly visible on their faces.

Rolling up on one elbow, he looked down upon her. His free hand
moved up to gently touch her face. "You're the most beautiful thing
in the world."

Closing her eyes, she pressed her cheek briefly against his hand
before taking it in her own and moving slowly down.

As his hand reached her chest, it ceased it's descent to explore
what it had found.

Fingertips moving over smooth skin, tracing gentle curves.
Breath increasing, pulse beginning to race.
Palm rubbing gently against stiffening peaks.

He moved his hand down, feeling her breath catch momentarily as a
finger stroked around and briefly dipped into her navel.

She closed her eyes again as she felt his hand move further down,
approaching her legs. Her stomach twitched slightly as her tuft of
hair was tickled slightly.

He froze as she suddenly moved, but continued moving his hand
downward gently as she gave a tiny nod.

          Fingers stroking through soft hair.
Touching the softest skin, parting tender folds.
Palm bumping the most sensitive point.

He looked down at her face, flushed, eyes closed, breathing hard.
"Do... do you want to..." he managed to ask in a whisper.

She opened her eyes suddenly, taking a moment to focus on his
face above hers in the almost-darkness. "Now," she said in a faint
voice. Reaching up, she grabbed his shoulders to pull him down to
her.

Catching himself on his elbows, he moved himself over her,
settling himself between her legs as she moved them apart.

Reaching down, she took him in her hand, pausing momentarily to
examine his shape. At his sudden gasp, she guided him into herself.

With a long indrawn breath he pushed himself into her. Stopping
to compose himself he brought his face down to hers, lips touching.

An eternity later, she felt his lips leave hers, and began moving
within her. Putting her arms around him, she closed her eyes and
concentrated on the pleasure passing through her.

Moving as slowly as he could, he still found himself losing
control after only a short time. Only a few minutes later, he gasped
out, "I.. I..." before nearly collapsing on her, burying his face in
her neck as he reached his peak.

She barely heard him speak as she suddenly felt him twitching
inside her. Holding his body against hers, she relaxed feeling him
descend.

He could barely talk, his mouth against her neck, eyes brimming
with tears. "I... I'm sorry... I wanted you to..." before untangling
his legs from hers.

Lifting his head from her shoulder, she kissed him gently on the
forehead and brushed away the tears at the corners of his eyes.
Smiling, putting all her love into her voice, she whispered to him,
"It's okay, it's okay. We still have forever, don't we?"

Smiling back down to her, he nodded. "Yes... all the time in the
world..."

A bit more commentary, written a couple of days after the first.
Again, about the language I use: I have to admit a fair bit of it is
corruption from reading too many romance novels. As for the lack of
"detail" and "four-letter words" in the second piece... I didn't think
they were necessary. And the absence of names? If you've seen the
end of El Hazard (or even the beginning!) you should be able to guess
who they are. Besides, _I_ know who they are, and that's enough.

As I write this, I remind myself again of how much easier it is
to write if you use pen and paper first before ever hitting the
keyboard. When I write at the keyboard, words just spew out of me and
onto the screen, I don't get much chance to _think_ about what I'm
writing first; going back and correcting and modifying isn't the
same. Just about everything I've written here was done on paper while
on vacation, far away from any computer. And I think my writing is
much better for the absence of electronics. Practically every word
was thought about, tossed around in my head, changed around and worked
on for at least a day or two before hitting pater, so it ends up with
far more thought than writing on keyboard first.

     That's _my_ opinion, anyways.

====================================================================

I wish I could have written so well way back when I was in
school....

(96/6/13)

====================================================================

This is what I get for taking too-long breaks while I write... my
style changes dramatically as the work progresses. In this second
piece, there is an enormous difference between it's beginning and it's
end (to _my_ eyes, anyways.) Especially since by part-way through the
fourth page (on paper) I was starting to lose a little of my will to
work on it...

Well, there's no excusing it. I'll just have to live with it.

(96/6/14)

====================================================================

My listening list while I wrote both pieces:
     Vangelis - Voices
Jon and Vangelis - Page of Life
Tokyo Policewoman Duo (Taiho Shichauzo) - Only One
     Kimagure Orange Road Original Soundtrack
     Macross Plus Original Soundtrack 1 & 2
(Yes, I do take anime CDs on vacation. ^_^;)

Is it love?
Is it love?
Is it love that I think I'm after?
Is the moment so expressive in my heart
To believe I could be with you?

Treasure this
Treasure this
Is it everything you hoped it would be?
In your soul in the dark at the firelight
Could breathe life in a heart of stone

Is it love?
Is this love?
Is this love that I think I'm feeling?
Hold me in your arms lay by my side
Let me be inside of you

Let me go let me fly let me love you (let me go)
Let me go let me fly let me love you (let me go)

Somehow I must believe you need me too
You dream me too summer love

Cause I will be unchained
When true love surrounds me
I will be unchained
When true love I see in your eyes
Cause I will be unchained
When true love I see in your eyes

Tell me I'm a fool I wouldn't know how to believe it
All the words you say and hold me touch me but
Somehow there's more to being this love
It's a game of give and take

Call it love (give and take)
Call it love (give and take)
Is it love that I think I'm after?
It's the world that inspires my every move
A world so much to do with you

Tell me now
I'm alive
So alive that I need to show it
Gather round me come to me the firelight
Come to me right by my side

I will be unchained
When true love surrounds me
I will be unchained
When true love I see in your eyes

If you really feel like it, just ignore all my commentary.
Looking back now... it was really just a big core dump, written mostly
to myself. Half of it was finished before I'd finished the pieces I
was commenting on... so it probably doesn't have much relevance to the
original stories anyways...

(96/6/14, late evening)

(I'm feeling much better now.)

(Jeepers, does my hand hurt...)
