I thought it was a no-no to refer to the site as Ayers Rock.  Someone
blasted me for calling it that recently, telling me that the only correct
name for it was Uluru (sp?)

It's only a no-no if you're worried about political correctness. 
Uluru is the correct spelling . It means "Big rock which silly white 
fellas crawl all over"
