     Ever have a dream where you feel like you're falling? Ever wake
up from one of those dreams to find it true? With some suspicious
looking ponds as your end location?

     Didn't think so. ;]

     I, however, _have_ which is why I'm writing this story and you
aren't. And don't try telling me it was all a dream. As far as I
remember, none of my family members are lemmings.

     But back to the story....

                              ********

     I was headed at top speed towards the ponds, as my rather sleepy
brain attempted to make sense of it all. Everything had a slightly
animated look to it, which clued my poor fried synapses into action.

     "AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaa!!"

     <SPLOOSH!>

     I suppose it's always comforting to see a familiar face in times
of stress, but I doubt the Chinese Guide counts.

     "You fall in Spring of Drowned Lemming. Such sad story, 1 million
year ago lemming fall in spring and drown. So sad."

     <Actually, lemmings tend to do that a lot.> I commented. It came
out as "Squeak, chirp squeee chitter." This brought on the usual
panicky questions. <How'd I get here?> <Why do I understand Japanese?>
and <Where's the nearest body of water?>

     Before that last question sunk in, I was bounding happily towards
the next pond.

    <SPLOOSH!>

    "So sorry. Lemming do that." commented the Guide. "Now you fall in
Spring of Drowned Super Model." He looked a little confused.

     "_Ruff_!?!"

     "Oh! So sorry. That one the one on left. You fall in Spring of
Drowned Dog. Such sad story, two day ago dog fall in spring and
drowned."

     <I could have been a _Super Model_?!?> "Yarp!?!?!"

     The guide shrugged. "You no jump in anymore Spring, okay? I no
seen anyone _want_ to jump in more than one."

     <If I'd come two days ago I'd be fine. If I'd picked the pool on
the left...> "Ruff. Growl." I complained.

     Well sirs? Is it worth posting what insanity follows? I need some sort of
response before I post anything else... I don wanna die!!! ;]
