1. The state of raac -- the possibility of an unmoderated alt group or
some such, as well as the reasons why alt groups don't propogate well any
more, and the role of this mailing list as a place for alternatives were
all briefly touched on. Zoner announced his retirement, and said that
some applications for moderators were in his mailbox.
I have an idea. I thinking of writing a proposal....to split up the RAAC
heirarchy (i.e. rec.arts.anime.creative.ranma,
rec.arts.anime.creative.sailor-moon, etc.). Apparently the stress of the
number of stories MegaZone was given before he quit was too much on him.
For each RAAC newsgroup, there will be a moderator devoted to that specific
anime series/show. This results in (hopefully) less work for each moderator.
Hopefully this won't turn out like the old proposal for rec.arts.anime, since
all the RAAC groups will be moderated and thus won't allow major
crossposting.
Yes, it puts alot of new groups added to the RAA list, but this is likely the
most viable option unless you guys had something different in mind.
