Ah, Kergma, that's not fair. They need the padding so they don't
hurt their poor widdle bodies... ;-)
True True. Yanks just don't have the resilence of us Aussies ;)

Aussie, and Proud of it.
Trickster,
It would be pointless to compare Aussie Rules Football with American
Football, either way, you get injured, and you die. Only difference between
the two: American players get paid better than the Aussies, plus they're
more recognized
around the world, and the sport is growing everyday in other countries, even
in your country. As for Aussie rules.....the last I've seen of it, it was
on ESPN about 10 years ago, when a fellow named Jacko, burst upon the US TV
screens with the
show, "The Highwaymen". It lasted only one season. Other than that, I've
seen maybe only a few commericals with him. As for Kergama's comment
about us
'hurting their poor widdle bodies', let's see him take on a guy who
outweighs him about 3 to 1, and try to block him or rush at him, and see
who's on top! Probably the BIG guy who'll just smash you into the cold,
hard ground. I guarantee you wouldn't be able to get up from that .
As for the vaunted Aussie resiliency, you're just as human as we are.
Myself, I took on guys in Football that were at least twice my size. I was
'5 11", 137lbs then, I had to be mean, tough, and aggressive just to take
the guy down. I had my bell rung a few times, but I came back for more and
I usually gave more than I took.
Now, I'm '6 2" 196, and still play Football as hard as I did when I went to
school.
Remember, each person has their level of pain and strength, it depends on
the day, or the moment.
As for you being Aussie and proud of it, good for you. To each his or her own.
I'm sure Australia has something to offer, and it's one of the FEW places I
haven't been to yet. I would like to go, just for the culture.
