Groaan. Oh, well, at least he attaches the file as plain text.

: This is the single hardest story I have ever written.
:
: I have publicly stated my general disapproval of lemons. It's best not
: to think of the characters in *that* way.

You mean, you *like* it best, not to think about them *that* way.

: Nevertheless, when writing
: chapter 8 of "Thy Inward Love", I felt strongly motivated to write of
: Kuno and Nabiki's prom night. Not just for the sex, but for the other
: things they had gone through.

Which is, what makes a lemon *good*. The sex only makes it lemon.
:)

: So I wrote this story. It took me a long time.

What *you* call a long time...

: A couple of points:
:
: Nabiki is 18. I've decided this. She was 17 at the beginning of Ranma
: 1/2. Enough time has gone by for her to have had a birthday, especially
: since TIL occurs nearly a year after the beginning of the manga.

Heck, over the course of the manga, so many things happened, that
it must have been *at least* two years, just to fit all the
adventures in. Only the characters didn't age in proportion.

: Also, the story is told from Nabiki's perspective. I realized the
: trouble I was in when I got to the lemon parts. All my knowledge of how
: sex feels to a woman is based on second-hand experience, of course, so I
: don't know if I'm describing it correctly. I'd be interested in a
: woman's comments about how the descriptions of these parts could be
: improved (Kun-chan! Help me!!!).

Just read her stories. :)

: Okay, without further ado (do I write longer introductions than anyone
: else on the FFML?),

Maybe, nut I always appreciated it, when the authors tells their
thoughts, especially if they manage to do it without giving
anything away, or just to justify themselves.

: here we go. As always, let me know what you think.

Will do.

:
: Needs and Desires
:
: by Richard Lawson
:

: amature entrepenuer, and didn't much notice her looks. This suited Nabiki

"amateur entrepreneur" Hey, this rhymes!

: Tatewaki was benefitting from his elevated status among the other boys,
: finding acceptance from them he had never experienced before. He had been
: respected, yes, as captain of the Kendo Club and Debate Team.

Never! Kunou in a *Debate Team*?? The man who thinks that
stubborn insistence is a good substitute for reasoned arguments?
The guy whose motto is "Dogmatic Assertion *IS* Best!"?

"Of course we're right." Nabiki put some arrogance into her voice. "Have I
: ever been wrong before?"

Oh, don't I know *that* argumentation. "I was right before,
therefor I must be right now."

Somehow I pictured Nabiki to be above that, intellectually.

: Rei narrowed her eyes. "What about when...."
:
: Nabiki interrupted. "Oh shut up, that was a fluke. Anyway, I'm not wrong
: about this, and you know it."

Ah, better. :)

: "Nothing is wrong, Tatewaki-kun." She stopped and looked over to the house,
: which was dark. "Is your father home?"
:
: "No, he will be spending the night at the school. He delights in pouncing
: on those who linger on after the prom."

Heh heh heh! Nice to see, that *some* thing don't change, even in
your fics.

OK, the sex scene was a *very* good portrayal of a first time:
Somewhat awkward at times, and often the excitement about *really
doing it* is better than the actual doing, itself. :)

When Kunou comes a tad prematurely and Nabiki asks

: She sat up, her nudity making her somewhat self-conscious. "What was it
: like?"

There's no way that someone like Tendou Nabiki lives to be 18 and
*never* had an orgasm. *No* *way*! (Remember: Sex is like a
bridge game - if you have a good hand no partner is needed.)

But then again, you couldn't have this line, otherwise:

: Nabiki put on a pouting face. "You can't describe it? In that case,"
: she said, throwing the sheet off of her, "you'd better show me."

:D :D

: Nabiki tried her best to recapture the buzzing. The sensation seemed distant
: this time. Somehow, the knowledge of what she was about to allow Tatewaki
: to do to her seemed to put a damper on the sensations she was feeling.

And as long as she thinks of sex as something that he "does *to*
her", it will stay that way.

: "Well, that was fun, but you've certainly got some room for improvement,
: Kuno-baby. I'll do some research and see what we can do to better our
: technique."

:) Another wonderful Nabiki-ism. I just adore her dry, sometimes
cynical humour.

: After they'd been together for a few years, she
: would allow him to talk her into marriage. But not for a long while.
:
: Nabiki was determined to be her own woman. She certainly wasn't going to
: depend on any man for her identity. When she was certain that the world
: understood who exactly Tendo Nabiki was, then she'd allow Tatewaki to share
: her identity. But not one minute sooner.

That's one of my reasons, why I can't imagine tha Manga Nabiki
marrying the Manga Kunou. She might take someone on and milk him
for all he's worth, but she'd never marry into a fortune. She'd
want to become rich by her own doing.

But these aren't the manga characters, anyway, so the point is
moot.

The aprs-lemon scenes were just as good, in portraying the
emotional impact of the act on these two teenagers. Very nice,
the goodbye before the Tendou home.

: They gazed at each other for a while. Nabiki examined every detail of his
: face. It *was* love that was written on his face, and it no longer scared
: her.

Awwww. :) I never believed that I could think of either Nabiki,
or Kunou as *cute*.
