        Should it be gritty?  (You know, half of the Ranma cast getting
killed in various gory ways, or being facehugged into breeders).  Or
not.  Thinks it's worth working on?

This is a GREAT idea!  You should do it.  Just one thing, though, make it 

FUNNY!!  It's the a gerne the ALIENS have not seen and there are FAR too 
many Darkfics of Ranma out there.  Have the Alien develope a conscience. 
 Even go so far as to give it a "Jimminy Cricket" character, but make it 
free thinking and give it a sense of right and wrong.  That, and make it 
fall in love with Ranma, and you have the Fanfic Of The Year!!
