I swore off writing Ranma fanfics, only because I want to move on to my
original work, that has a one-in-a-million chance of being published.
That is better than the zero-in-a-million chance I have of getting paid
for these Ranma stories.

That's not *that* much better. Remember: 99% of zero is *almost* nothing.

This time, it was Sebastian Weinberg who did this to me. He commented
how unsatisfied he was with Kodachi's treatment in "Thy Inward Love" -
carted off to a mental hospital and never heard from again, safely out
of everyone's lives.

I thought it was a cop-out, but couldn't be helped without seriously
expanding the fic, since Kodachi's road to normality was bound to be
longer and rockier than any of the other fiances'.

The ideas began slowly percolating. First one scene, then another, then
another. Finally I couldn't hold it in and had to write it down, before
I even finished my rewrite of "Appearances".

So here's Kodachi, out of the hospital and trying to find a new place
for herself in the Ranmaverse.

Uuooouh, God!! This was *exactly* what I imagined.

Richard, I love you! Will you marr... Oooops, this isn't
alt.fan.pratchett - Forget that last sentence. But I still love the
story. Detailed C&C tomorrow.

BTW, "Tekima" is a name I made up all by myself. There was some logic
to its creation, which I'll be happy to share with anyone who asks.

Well, then, consider yourself asked.
