I don't know how to write long stories, I seem to do OK with things I
can finish in a session or two ("The pit of fear", "Mission: Sailor
Moon"), but my two biggies are crawling ("Promise", "Magical Girls Dream
Team").

For "Promise" I had a very good ideal of the overall arc before I
started scripting, but now I'm having difficulty as I lift out threads
and try to braid new ones in.

For "MGDT", I had a final scene and then a series of goalposts to
reach. I've started just at the beginning and am quickly finding myself
short on ideals to reach the first few goalposts.

My problem seems to be an inability to maintain coherence and momentum
throughout a storyline.

I might suggest that you avoid characters you feel too much for. I'm
hopeless for that blue goddess B-ko, and it shows.
