It's really funny when they say "Are you on the east/west coast?" to me.
I say, "Yep, on the east coast. Though more south-east." They don't seem
to understand that there is more than one east/west coast in the world.
When I eventually tell them what the time here is, they stop and blink at
me as if I said the sky was pink or something. It's not like America's the
center of the world or anything... :p
That's because to most merkens, the world is bounded by Canada, Mexico,
'Merkins... From 'Merka.
Whatever...
the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. As far as most are concerned,
there's nothing out beyond Hawaii. Blame their media and education for
being so insular.
And their government ... and the cheap rip off of the Loch Ness monster
on the worst X-Files episode ever ... And all the 'Merkin patriots ...
And all the natural disasters in that country ... And all the violence
and crime ... And Hollywood ... And ID4 ... (yay! the only part in the
movie where people clapped was when they showed a whole 5 seconds of
Sydney!) ... And whatever other stupid thing I can think up to blame...
REally sticking it to them tonight, aren't we? ;}
Personally, I cheered when the White House got blown into ity-bity
toothpick sized pieces. It was *very* satisfying@ ;}
P-word.
