No but seriously this IS an interesting peice of trivia. Now I
wonder why in the translated versions these come out so very tame.
It's called taste. A rare swear word in a choice situation is not that
bad. What was in the first copy of Facades that you mailed out was a lot
more than that.
Swear words are a vulgarity, pure and simple. Thusly, their use should
be carefully watched when writing a 'fic. Put too many in, or use them
inappropriately, and your fic comes out like "a tale told by an idiot,
full of sound and fury, signifying nothing" (I know I've used the quote
before, but it seemed appropriate). When the words distract from the
story, rather than compliment it, the words have gone too far.
