friend; knowing Ukyou's gender would make no difference in his thoughts about
her.
By the time Ranma got old enough to notice girls, it would have been years
since he had last seen Ukyou.
Not to mention, Ranma calls Ukyou a cute girl and too cute to waste
herself on Revenge in the first story she shows up in. If Ranma really
was incapable of thinking of her as a girl, he wouldn't say that.
This doesn't mean he LOVES her, but I think it's evidence he's not so
fixed in his ways that he's completely incapable of thinking of her as a
girl.
