I think the watchword here is "anyone in their *right* mind".
Just for the record: I *like* Ukyou, and I am sincerely repulsed
by the idea that she should be married to Ranma, just because she
is pathologically fixated on him. Jeez, you don't try to marry a
co-dependent woman to a wife-beater or a junkie to a dealer, do
you? Just because she *thinks* she needs and loves him, doesn't
mean he is really good for her.
Ukyou doesn't *deserve* to be married to an insensitive jerk like
Ranma, and Ranma doesn't deserve a wife like Ukyou either. He
deserves someone like Akane, who'll pound him, when he needs it.
I'm sure that some people are upset about the "Ukyou gets therapy"
angle, but face it: Do you want her to end up in a marriage that
is *bound* to be unhappy, because it is based on a mental fixation
- or would you rather have her freed of that condition and able to
find herself a boy who is *good* for her?
