When I first knowledge of fred onto this list, it never occoured to me to
set forth it's limitations. I am here to do this now.
Fred is a small universe. In fact, it is small in many ways. It only
contains one solar system, with only one small planet and a small star.
The planet has one continent and a large ocean. The continent is small,
roughly the size of Texas and a few scattered islands. The continent has
one large city, named Berkeley, with a suburb named Bob. Otherwise it is
all wilderness.
I created Fred with the help of an infinite improbabalility drive. To
create a universe out of nothing takes more energy that our sun could
provide if it were to burn all of it's fuel in a time span of a
microsecond. So I had to give it ingredients. I threw a clump of dirt
into a swimming pool in order to create texas. I added a boulder to act as
the core of planet fred. I threw in some legos for structure. I tossed in
various bits of vegitation to create plantlife, and I threw in my cat to
give it animal life. I then threw in my refrigerator to give it a variety
of microbiology. Then I threw in a immigrant for low cost labor (ain't I
mean?).
Then I gave it information. I threw in all my textbooks. I stole some
more textbooks and threw them in as well, these created the professsors of
fred. I tossed in a large part of my sci-fi books for technology, and
tossed in rosemary's baby for some truly evil undertones. I then started
on the movies. I added all of the james bond movies (except 'a view to a
kill', and 'never say never again' 'cause they sucked, and goldeneye 'cause
I don't have a copy), all three star wars, apollo 13, wyatt earp, and
bladerunner, these gave it action, adventure and cool special effects.
I then added a well worn gi, and a lot of jackie chan movies to give it
fighting ability, and a horde of sensei willing to teach.
I then started the infinite improbabality drive. I gave it a pan galactic
gargle blaster, a piece of fairy cake, a jelly baby, and a nice hot cup of
fresh tea. I then input the correct inprobability, and watched it work.
Within a few minutes all that was left at the bottom of the pool was fred.
Fred was about the size of a grain of sand. I buried it.
Then I created the portals. They were easy. Pieces of Oak and a piece of
paper with the dimentional co-ordinates of fred printed upon. The infinite
inprobability drive worked like a charm.
Then I destroyed the drive. I ended selling the golden parts to a jeweler,
and melting the rest into a doorstop.
Fred has no internal magic. I created it with none so that it would be
near impossible to trace. There is no Jhusenkyo there, there is no cure
for the curses. There is only a place to train and to stay out of the
animates reach.
That is all.
