You know, if Nabiki wasn't a girl, Ranma might decide to pound her into a
bloody pulp (ok maybe I'm exaggerating, but still :) for blackmailing him
like that. Here he is, Ranma, a very powerful martial artist who defeated
Kirin, and Toma, and Saffron, etc. and he can't stand up to Nabiki. *sigh*
Nabiki exploits Ranma's weaknesses and Akane's jealousy quite effectively.
You know I wonder what will happen to Nabiki if she went ahead and
vandalized Ucchan's. I think this will be the point of pounding Nabiki.
But who knows, Nabiki in this story seems very shrewd. More like she
is the head of a gang. Reminds me of a story called The Godfather.
Oh well, maybe it will mellow out or there will be some bloodshed.
One thing about Nabiki in the Anime/Manga - she exploits and takes
advantage of Ranma & Kuno regularly, but with virtually everyone else she
appears to be on a more businesslike footing. She takes their money and
then gives them what they paid for - all her dealings with Ranma's other
iinazuke have fallen apart because they started fighting one another, not
because NAbiki failed in her part of the deal. The Nabiki who blackmails
*everybody* is a creation of the fanfiction world.
To put it another way, Nabiki has never really tired to "take on" Ukyou
SHampoo or Kodachi in any fashion. And while Nabiki may be somewhat smarter
than any of them, they would not buckle the way Kuno and Ranma do when
Nabiki manipulates them. And I have no doubts that any one them would
resort to violence if NAbiki provoked them far enough.
