to see which ones I could identify.  Help me out here...

OVERALL:
Characters other than Kodachi, Happosai, or Azusa die.


Most of them.

Happosai fails to die.
The story ends around a grave, rubble heap, or pile of corpses.


Lessee...The Wanderer...One Shot Wong's stories...

The story is set in the future.

The story is set after some great disaster (Nuke, earthquake, etc.)

loses money. (Only sad from Nabiki's perspective)

is put on trial by Kasumi's decendant.

is the sole survivor of a tragic explosion.


Smoke and Mirrors, my aforementioned darkfic (well, Akari survives, too)

commits suicide, after telling everyone that they should do likewise.


Childhood's End, innit?

burns the cookies she was making.
makes vague hints about child abuse.


Oh, god, I deleted that one

kills innocent pieces of furniture.
carries a handgun for most of the story.


And of course, is killed and remade as a Zoanoid.

MOUSSE:
leads a band of mutant animals.
goes insane.
dies to save Shampoo.


far too many

is driven to suicide by Shampoo.
drives Shampoo to suicide.


That clock tower one

does just about anything involving Shampoo aside from marrying her.
kills Ranma.
kills anyone.



And, of course, there should be an emotional turmoil checklist:

XXX is tortured
XXX's husband/fiancee/boyfriend is *almost* killed
XXX discovers that they're a horrible person
Ranma remains as a girl, and Akane *doesn't* want to sleep with him

XXX being Nabiki nine times out of 10 (the tenth is Kodachi)
