I think he was referring to the fact that Ranma turns out not to
love Akane anymore - in the physical sense.
Well, that *was* surprising, most of all apparently to Ranma
himself. He obviously expected that his feelings for Akane would
be just as they were years before, once he got unlocked. When that
wasn't the case, he was shocked (and probably quite a bit afraid of
having gone "gay" in the meantime, which would explain why he let
Kentaro run off like that and only contacted him a lot later).

Gee, why are all you people so stuck on Akane "betraying" Ranma?
In the first draft of the first part it was a little ambiguous, but
Richard made unmistakably clear that Akane tried *everything* in he
power to help Ranma cope and move on with life. It was *Ranma* who
shoved her away because he was unable to see her differently from
before and was not prepared to accept that things might have
changed. Kentaro managed to do what Akane tried because Ranma did
not love him at that point (And kentaro has some other leverage,
what with Ranma's increasing dependency on teaching him to give his
own life some sense of purpose).
What is it with you people, crying "betrayal" so vehemently? Did
you all get locked in female form and dumped by your fiancee? Get
over it! ;)
: Very Dissappointing.

: Not to me.
Me neither.
