Heh. That's one of the main aspects of my fanfic...

: Herb's lineage is from a dragon. Strong magic.

Hmm, I don't quite agree with that. I believe Herb's dragon lineage only
gave him shameless power over chi, which in turn lead to his ability to
fly. I don't think it would have affected the curse.

Also, this doesn't explain why Ranma-onna looks *very* much like
Ranma-otoko and is practically a carbon copy of his mom. No, the

That's quite amusing, actually. If Ranma-chan were to groom her hair
like Nodoka, they'd be twins (a point he/she took into consideration
during the "engagement ring" story arc in the manga 36.)

spring changes the gender (and species in the case of the ape),
but not the distinct features. The ape just looked like Ranma as
a *joke*. Besides, IIRC that was a flashback told by Herb, who's
taunting Ranma at the time, so I would take it with a grain of
salt.

Herb himself explains that he hates Ranma-chan not only because of the
humilliation at the Cat Cafe, but also because she's the dead ringer for
the monkey girl that stuck him as a female.

Oh, remember the one-shot Jusenkyou mix that Shampoo tried out on
the dog? It still looked a lot like it had before, just human,
while Ranma simply stopped changing, when he used it. Thus it
seems that the springs truly do only change what their name
implies (i.e. only gender and species in these cases).

In the manga, the dog remains looking as a dog... but in the anime, it
ends up looking as <snicker> Ataru Moroboshi.
