CHAPTER 8- THE RESCUE?

All characters used are either my friends or copyrights of the original
authors.  In this one, only Rumiko Takahashi's characters appear.

     Megane took out the sushi from the container.  He got the chopsticks and
said,

     "Emiko-chan, please open your mouth.  I don't want to get any of this on
you."  The look on his face was sincere.  It almost made me forget about
killing him.  Almost.

     "Um, Megane-kun, could you let me eat this myself?  It's kind of
embarassing to be spoonfed, or is that chopstickfed?"  I gave him a smile,
hoping I could convince him with smiles instead of words.

     "Emiko-chan,  I'm really sorry, but we have to do this to ensure Lum-san's
happiness.  Do you know what that Moroboshi does?  It's so tragic to see
Lum-san suffer at his hands."  He placed some sushi down my mouth.

     My anger rose.  "Don't you think it's kind of pompous on your part to
assume that Lum isn't happy?  If you really cared about her happiness, you
would stop doing things to make her unhappy- like kidnapping!"

     Megane turned a deep shade of red.  "We want to ensure Lum's happiness! 
This is all for her benefit!"   There was an evil gleem in Megane's eye.  I saw
him look at me savagely.  I prayed that he wasn't thinking what I thought.  He
then said,  "You know.  You are just as beautiful, just as lovely, just as
innocent as our precious Lum-chan."  He ripped off my skirt.  Then he
whispered, "For Lum..."  Just as he was about to take his pants off...

     "IS THAT SO!"  Everyone looked at the door.  A familiar figure was
standing outside.  I could not see her face directly, because the light was
hurting my eyes.  I heard her voice again,  "MEGANE- I HATE YOU!  I NEVER WANT
TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!"  I could sense the pure hatred in her voice.  Another
figure stepped through the door.  "Megane-kun, you ruined our dresses.  They
were so pretty and expensive."  She cracked her knuckles.  All of the
stormtroopers except Megane were praying to their respective gods.  Megane was
sobbing.  Shinobu started to yell,  "You are going to pay for this."  Two more
people stepped through the door- a diminutive man with a cavernous hat and a
attractive young woman in a wedding dress.  The woman spoke.  "You ruined my
wedding.  What love is there in your hearts?  I shall have to teach you the
meaning of love- through pain."  Chibi fainted from pure terror.  Even I was
afraid of what was going to happen to them.  The four started to advance on the
Stormtroopers, then Megane dashed towards me and held a knife to my throat.  I
screamed.  "This isn't happening.  I'm back in my dorm room, studying for that
test."  I kept trying to think that to myself, but it wasn't working.  I wanted
to click my heels three times to see if that worked, but my ankles were still
chained.  Megane shouted,

     "If you do not end your engagement to Ataru, Emiko-chan and myself commit
Lovers' Suicide.  Gomen, Emiko-chan."  I was absolutely terrified.  I thought
that my life was going to end, and I was totally helpless.  I had control over
nothing- even my body was someone else's idea.  Not only was I going to die,
but I would die without hope, which is the most tragic fate of all.  Then
Megane started to float.  Then I see this flash directed at me.  It hit the
device that was constraing my hands.  Freedom!  I might actually live through
this.  Then I heard Lum ask me if I was ready.  I knew what she meant.  The
last thing Megane saw was two cute girls who were doing what appeared to be a
wind-up , except that the lightning was not a good heater.  Two voices wer
heard yelling out

     "SUPER DUPER ELECTRIC LYNCHING!"

     The look on his face- I will see that horror forever.  A bright glow
surrounded his body, then blood squirted out of his ears and eyes.  Then the
glow stopped.  Megane was shaking, but the blood had stopped.  I looked at what
was left of Megane.  It will still living, but there was a blank look in his
eyes.  Shinobu turned her attention on the rest of the gang.  After about ten
seconds, there were four holes in the roof.  Cherry muttered something about
"may their souls ferment in hell" and "that is fate"  

     Sakura then ran over to me and asked if I was OK.  I nodded.  I was too
weak to talk.  I saw Sakura go to where Megane was standing, then she shook her
head.  That was the last thing I remember before passing out.

     I woke up with a splitting headache.  I tried to move my arms and legs, to
see if I was still dreaming.  I could move my arms- I was free!  I opened my
eyes.  Lum and Shinobu were standing at my side.  On both their faces, an
expression of relief could be found.  I then asked,  "What happened, and how
did you find out where I was?"

     Lum answered,  "I'll tell you what happened.  First, did they do anything
with you?"

     Shinobu said,  "I'd like to pay them back- too bad they got away."
     
     Weakly, I said,  "No.  You got there just in time.  Another minute and..."
     
     Shinobu turned away in horror.  "Oh no."
     
     Lum looked angry.  "That is unforgivable.  If Dahling did that- I'm not
sure if I could ever forgive him."

     I looked at the two of them and asked,  "What did you do after I passed
out?"

     Lum started to explain.  "After we crashed.  I fell to the floor and
passed out along with everyone else.  As soon as we regained consciousness, we
noticed that everyone was naked.  Dahling was real excited to see my naked
body, but then he saw Cherry and started to convulse.  After we all covered
ourselves up, we noticed Sakura and Tsuabme crying.  I hope I have a happy
marriage with Dahling."  Shinobu interrupted Lum

     "It's so sad that they didn't get their happy wedding.  I hope they find
happiness."  Shinobu sighed.  Knowing her, she was probably thinking about her
tragic love life- Ataru, Mendo, that thing Soban, Inaba.  Lum continued.

     "We all went home, and put on some new clothes.  After we got dressed,
Okaasama* told us that one of my friends sent me a note.  I read the note.  It
said:

     We have the girl.  We intend to marry her off if you do not break off
     your engagement to Moroboshi.  The girl will suffer no harm.

     I was mad.  Not only had they ruined Sakura-sensei's wedding, they were
kidnapping as well.  I looked at the directions to their hideout, and asked
Shinobu and Sakura to come along."

     Shinobu then said,  "We wanted to come along just to punish them.  Megane
may have done some stupid thing before, but this was just wrong!  Sakura
wanted to kill them for ruining her wedding, so she went along as well. 
Cherry- well.  He goes where he wants to, but he was as mad as the rest of us.
We went to their hideout, ready to take out any lookouts.  We were surprised
not to find any.  As we entered the building, we saw everyone staring at
something.  We figured they were looking at you.  When we barged in, the first
thing we saw was Megane unzipping his pants and you in panties.  It was
obvioud that Megane was going to do something horrible, something evil.  All
of us had murder on our minds.  Lum-chan was able to zap the restraints off
your hands- why couldn't you have done that earlier?"

     "They sealed off my electrical powers.  What's funny about all this was
the fact that Megane was actice really nice-"

     Lum interrupted me.  "Emiko-chan, how can kidnapping someone be nice?"
     
     Shinobu then said,  "Oh, I read somewhere that if you're kidnapped, you
become sympathetic to your abductors.  Emiko-chan, did you do that?"

     I replied,  "Well, kind of.  They were behaving themselves- they even
ordered some takeout.  They even put clothes on me- they said that my clothes
were disintegrated by the gas, and you confirmed it.   At first I thought they
were just being perverted."

     Shinobu then told me that raping someone is perverted.  Lum nodded in
agreement.  Lum then continued telling me what happened.  "I zapped the device
off your hands, and we rest is history."

     Now I know what happened.  "Arigato, Lum-chan, Shinobu-chan.  I still
have a few more questions.  Did Tsubame ever say I do?"  I heard a sultry
voice.  

     "Yes.  Now we're going on our honeymoon- Jamaica here we come!  I just
came to check up on you.  How are you feeling?"

     "I'm tired, but other than that- I guess I'm fine.  What happened to
Megane?  Is he dead?"  Sakura nodded, then said,

     "Oh.  That creep.  Unfortunately, he didn't die.  He took one hell of a
shock- I'm surprised anyone could survive that level of electricity.  I'm sure
he suffered some brain damage, and he is blind and deaf due to the bursting of
his eyes and ears.  I don't know if they will ever heal.  The police also want
to have a long talk with him.  Do you know what happened to the rest of your
abductors?"

      Shinobu said,  "I don't know.  I was so mad!  I just wanted to kill! 
Those bastards were trying to rape a friend of mine!"  Hearing Shinobu say
that startled me.  I didn't think Shinobu was the swearing type.  At least she
considers me her friend.  "I don't know where they are."  Kitsune then leaped
on my injured ankle, causing me to wince.

      Everyone in the room asked,  "Is something wrong?"
      
      I replied,  "No!  Just my ankle!  Lum-chan, when are you going to teach
me how to land?"

      Immediately, Sakura waved her arms and said,  "You've been through a
lot.  Two days rest."  I groaned.  "No complaints.  Now take a nap."  Kitsune
turned into a mini-Sakura, and started waving her arms exactly like Sakura did
a minute ago.  Everyone laughed.  There was a knock on the door.  Anita and
Tsubame entered.  Tsubame kissed Sakura, while everyone blushed at the passion
of the kiss.  Anita then asked what happened.   Lum explained the story to
her, then asked, "Where were you two?"  Tsubame then told his story.

     "After the gas attack, we noticed something strange.  After getting some
new clothes and equipment, we searched all over town.  Our search led to an
abandoned building, where this demon pops out.  It was a powerful demon, it
stopped all of my magicks.  Then it flew off.  It could have finished us off
easily.  Nothing serious, we can investigate after our honeymoon."  Sakura and
Tsubame left, apparently for Jamaica.  Everyone else let me rest, except
Kitsune.  Kitsune was in a plyful mood, which didn't surprise me- no one had
played with him all day.  Even though I was tired, I told him some stories
about my previous life.  After about five minutes, Kitsune fell asleep from
boredom.  I was exhausted.  I fell asleep immediately.

If you wondered what happened to the other Stormtroopers...

     After landing from orbit, the remaining stormtroopers landed in the middle
of what looked like a prison.  There were plenty of provisions- and there was a
box labeled "DO NOT OPEN".  Unfortunately for the stormtroopers, Keirisama
landed right on the box, breaking it into little pieces.  A purple dinosaur
cried out in pain, then the dinosaur said,  "Yuk Yuk!  I'm Mrs. Barney.  I feel
like breeding.  Do you want to sing the happy breeding song!  sure you do!" 
They were never heard from again.

CHAPTER 8 LINER NOTES.

wind-up, heater- these are baseball terms.  For the benefit of those who are
baseball illiterate.  A wind-up is the pitcher's delivery when no one is on
base (well, most pitchers).  A heater is a fastball, and lightning is what you
call a really good fastball.

*  Okaasama=mother.  Lum would view Mrs.Moroboshi as her mother, isn't that
what couples do? :>

I felt like making the first half just a dream sequence, and then have the real
rescue, but that would be too cheesy, ne?
