Get Ranma confident and Ryouga depressed and we could see how those
shields withstand Chi attacks...  

Unless they can throw a blast more powerful than a nuke, don't bother.
Those shields can take a nuke blast without strain remember?

     Then again, the shields might not be able to stop chi, because the
source is something *OTHER* than standard technological warfare devices. :)
