                Dragon Path by Ben Kosse
                    part 2: She-Devil

                        She-Devil

By sixteen hundred hours, Johnson's secretary had
cleaned up him, his desk, and finally herself. She then left the
contented Captain in his office and was returning to her desk
outside his door to wait for Dragon to show up.
Down at the entrance to the police department, a
gorgeous woman, dressed in black leather pants and a
loose-fitting black tank top, walked through the glass turntable
door. Over her shirt was a leather jacket, also black, but
studded with silver and gold studs which formed the face of a
fire-breathing silver dragon on the back of the jacket. Her
blonde hair was shoulder length, with a hint of curl and swept
over her right eye. On her right hip was a .44-magnum autoloader
and the hilt of a laser pistol could be seen jutting from her
right side, kept in a shoulder holster.
A huge man, standing near seven feet tall, and
weighing close to 300 pounds, all muscle, followed her in. He was
dressed similarly, but didn't have the dragon on the back of his
jacket. He had two oversized pistols in his belt, obviously
custom made projectile weapons of some sort, and his
shoulder-length black hair was done in a ponytail. To say he was
impressive would have been as much an understatement as to say
that the woman was beautiful.
The two men working as secretaries looked up from
their computers. This promised to be interesting, considering
that it was illegal for a man to enter a police building with
weapons, and even more illegal for a woman to do the same, much
less just own weapons.
The metallic, laser absorbent floor squeaked against
her rubber soled shoes as she walked forward, to see two
policemen block her path. Both had medium laser rifles, a short
range, but high power rifle. The guards were not yet aiming at
her. Instead, each held his rifle by the pistol stock and the
hand grip on the energy magazine. They were both dressed in
standard grunt uniforms: dark blue riot armor and a white
multi-optic helmet. The one on the left spoke to her, "You're not
allowed in here, only policemen and their private secretaries may
pass."
The huge man spoke before she could, his impossibly
deep voice carrying no small hint of danger to the guards. "I
have one word for you. Dragon. I've got four more: get out of our
way." She chuckled. He did have a way of putting things bluntly.
The two police officers knew that Dragon would be
showing up, but were under strict orders not to let anyone pass.
The Captain wouldn't have this 'Dragon' receiving any special
treatment. "Sorry, sir, I cannot let you or this little bitch
pass. Orders from the Captain."
The woman shrugged her shoulders, looked backwards
once, making sure no other police were going to have to be dealt
with, and suddenly dove forward. She was so fast that neither
policeman had time to bring the rifle to bear before she stood up
by the right-hand guard. Her knee ripped into his crotch, lifting
him three or four inches off the ground. He heard his plastic cup
break just before he curled up in pain.
The other guard saw his comrade go down and was
about to swing his gun towards the bitch, when he saw that she
had the other officer's rifle pointed at him. "Drop the gun,
we're here at the invitation of your captain."
Not wanting to be shot, he dropped his gun, and saw
the giant step into his field of view. Oh shit, he thought,
before a punch laid him out and he collapsed noisily to the metal
floor.
She threw the rifle down, and walked into the
elevator, the giant following her.
On the tenth floor, Johnson's secretary had just
seated herself when the steel elevator opened--the doors sliding
quietly apart to reveal the pristine white interior. She saw two
armed people dressed in leathers walk out: a beautiful blonde
woman in front of a huge black-haired man. She was about to call
security when the man spoke.
"We're here to see the captain. He's expecting us."
"You're Dragon?" The secretary's voice was full of
awe. Before she could react, the man walked up to the door.
        "Door locked, ma'am?"
The secretary regained her composure, and tried to
bring some order again. "Yes, it is. The captain wanted to be
informed when you'd arrived," she said, as she placed her hand on
the intercom to let Johnson know that Dragon was here.
The woman walked up to the door, to the disdain of
the secretary who was frantically trying to figure out what to
do. The secretary just stared, completely speechless, when the
woman kicked in the oaken door.
Johnson jumped out of his chair when the door flew
open. He didn't see who had done it, but when the man walked in,
he knew that Dragon had come.
        "So, you're Dragon?" He asked.
"No, I'm not. You could consider me Dragon's
secretary. Allow me to introduce Dragon to you, though."
Johnson was thoroughly impressed. If this was
Dragon's secretary, then Dragon just might be able to deal with
Slider. Then, when he saw the gorgeous woman enter, he was
perplexed. "Where's Dragon?"
She walked up to the front of his desk, and pushed
him back onto the chair. "Captain Johnson, allow me to introduce
myself. I am Akisha Mesa-ryu, but you may call me Dragon."
