some times we just sent a mail with compliments or C&C (like miself im
not too good making C&C but i like to sent letters to just say "hey i
like the fanfic") and then the writter never takes his time to say "Hey
tanks for answering".
Yes i know that many of the writters don't have time to answer all the
letters that they got but i can tell you that just a simple reply saying
tanks it's going to made the guy who sent the C&C think that you are
really paying attention to his opinion and he will probably start to do
more C&C (I had made some friends here in that way).
As an author, I try to give C&C when I read a story I like. Even
if it is just a little "Nice story." But, I don't expect the author to
write back if all I give him is a "Nice story" type of comment. Why?
Because I didn't take the time to explain what I liked and didn't like.
I think that the C&C-er shouldn't always *EXPECT* a reply. It would be
nice for authors who ask for and get 20+ page C&C's to reply to the
editor (ahem! You know who you are. :P )
But, if I may play devil's advocate here.... Why shouldn't you take
a few more moments and give some C&C that says what specific parts you
liked and didn't like? Instead, you expect a comment on your C&C,
regardless of how trivial it is?

Now, don't get me wrong, here. I'm not saying that people shouldn't
give little C&C bits. It's nice, and it lets the author know that people
are reading his/her work and a general idea of what people think of the
work. All I'm saying is that if you give a little message, leaving nothing
for the author to really say back to you and/or discuss with you about,
there is really no reason for he/she to reply.

so if you whant some C&C just remeber that you have to give somethig in
order to get somethig
So, the stories we writers write aren't anything?

(For those against smiley faces, the above sentence is a sarcastic
remark, but then again, you probably didn't know that, did you?)
Then again, it is also a good question.
