Ch 3

Kurama opened his eyes and glanced at the clock on the wall, "oh
man, 6:27 already." He suddenly wished that he didn't have to go to
school, not to mention that he had to turn in the science project that was
due today.
"Hnn.." the little body moved beside him.
Kurama smiled to himself as he looked at the small face which now
looked so innocent and sweet in sleep. Who could ever have been able to
tell that this was the same person that can kill mercilessly in a matter of
seconds but at the same time had so much passion behind his cold mask?
Kurama was the only one who could taste it all. He wished this magical
moment could stay forever. Unfortunately, it could not. Not while he's
still a human, a high school student who was trying to graduate early for
that matter.
"Hiei, wake up. It's morning already." He whispered.
"Hm...?"
"Wake up! Kaasan might come in at any minute."
"So?"
"I think it's better if nobody knows about..."
"Shuichi, are you up? Breakfast's ready. You are going to be late."
"Hiei! Kaasan's here. Hurry!" Kurama whispered as he fumbled for his clothes.
"Shuichi, are you feeling all right?" The door knob turned.
"She's coming in!" Kurama hissed. "Aa...Kaasan! I'll be right down, I'm
getting dressed."
When there was no response, Kurama breathed a sigh of relief as he sat down
on his bed.
"Hiei, I..." By the time Kurama turned around to explain, Hiei was nowhere
in sight.

"Minamino! Minamino Shuichi!"
"Ah...Hai!" Kurama was suddenly snapped out of his thoughts when he
realized that he had been called upon by Mr. Nakamura.
"Young man, if you don't start paying attention soon, I'm going to have to
send you down to the principal's office." Mr. Nakamura said angrily as he
pushed up his spectacles.
"I...I'm sorry." Kurama mumbled as he sat down. Other students in the
class looked at him curiously, from what they've observed, Minamino had
always paid attention in class.
*This is not right,* Kurama thought to himself. *I shouldn't have brush
him off like that. But then what can I do? Let kaasan and found us there?
Like THAT? I wonder what Hiei's opinion on this? He probably thought that
I've used him...No, can't be. He knew better than that. I'm being too
parenoid and insecure. I should stop thinking about this and start paying
attention before Mr. Nakamura send me down to the principal's office.*
Kurama then decided to push Hiei out of his mind.

"Hn! What's with that fox?" Hiei grumbled to himself as he watched Kurama
from a distance. First Kurama was crying in his sleep, then that fox
snubbed him in the morning when Shiori knocked on the door, acting as if he
had committed a great crime, and now he was not paying attention in class.
These were NOT normal.
Hiei thought as he observed Kurama in class from a nearby tree. *Hell! He
sent me off as if I was nothing. Why should I worry about him? Worry?
Since when did I...?*
"Hn!" That was his last remark before Hiei decided that he need a break
from this himself.
