Those of you who were on this list quite a few months ago already know me.
For those who missed my (albeit somewhat brief) spate on the FFML, let me
introduce myself again.
My name is Aubry Thonon (aka Neoculture, aka Thallin Braywater, aka
Kanjite Kawai, aka GS Mikami... depending on the ML) and my speciality is
Robotech/Macross Fics, be they novel, short-stories, cross-overs or
spoofs.
My Robotech fic-world is different from that of the Palladium RPG and the
McKinney novels. I will not debate the merits of those, each must make
their choice.
The "Protoculture Wars" Universe (named after the novels currently being
written) is closer to the original Robotech Universe in intent - no
Thinking Caps and the Shapings is but a religion, to name but a few
differences. The ProWar saga extends back to 12,000 BCE and forward past
2070 CE (to use round numbers).
If you have not seen the Robotech TV series, let it be thus known that it
is a serial concatenation of three Japanese animation show: "Super
Dimension Fortress: Macross", "Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross" and
"Genesis Climber Mospeada", with the concept of a bio-generated fuel
source called 'Protoculture' as the major link between each series. A
summary of events can be found in timeline format at
http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/1467/
and will therefore not be discussed here-in.
The posts made to this ML will consist of the short stories written
for the ProWar story-line. Each is supposed to be stand-alone and
understandable without a knowledge of the rest of the ProWar story-arc (I
hope) but does sometime make references to events in ProWar's "History".
C&C on the short-stories is welcomed, as my ego never tires of being
stroked. ^_^
Thank you for your time in reading this intro.
