AC:means Angel's Chronicles
I know I'm doing this since I'm trying to perfect a few things
before I even try to integrate the ideas in mine head into an original novel
I've been trying to write off/on since time immemorial...
Sounds like me ^_^ -- I've megs of original work (fantasy and its
history) some of which I've been working on since 1982 (although of much off
and on).
Don't get much C&C. And here my friend told me to sign up on this ML
to get the C&C I need...
I might continue it.. But one a slower basis.
IMO (of course) I wouldn't do that; you'll probably simply get bored
and abandon it if you don't keep going - something I can see happening with DC
if I don't get back to it.
*sigh*
NOTE: I do know most of all those on this ML has a copy of it and
must have read it. I kinda need something like C&C, flames or
such, you know.
I wonder if it's not so much that people don't read many of the fics
as that there are so many that it's becomes almost impossible for most to C&C
anything but something that *really* grabs their attention? As I've said
before, I've literally lost count of the number of times I've intended to
write to someone about something they've written only to read ten more fics on
the particular day and never get around to it. I've finally decided that I'm
going to try to respond to as many as possible, even if it's with no more than
a: `well done!' or whatever.
BTW: What do you guys think about Craig's Dark Chronicles anyway?!
I know I liked it? Howz about everyone else?!!
I'm not saying a thing. ^_^ Actually, I really can't blame people for
not commenting on ch. 3 (even though it would have been nice :) ) - the thing
was absolutely *huge* in comparison to the rest and I'm increasingly of the
opinion that I should have stuck with the Ranmaverse for another chapter
before introducing the BGC continuum.
PS: I'm trying to help out Craig here too.
And many thanks indeed. ^_^
Both of us are having failing
faith on the ML.
Although (at least for my part) I really can't point fingers since I'm
more guilty than most for not C&Cing - I say this because I've *plenty* of
time for reading, read almost everything (except YYH and lemon-centred fics)
and didn't begin commenting until *very* recently. Still, I have seen
complaints from others that only established writers get decent C&C, something
I don't think can be considered a general rule as the SM/Arthurian x-over
(excellent tale BTW and one of the many I meant to respond to) received
apparently all but no response. I really don't know what can be done about
the C&C problem - it would certainly have been the height of hypocrisy on my
part until very recently to complain about its lack and one can hardly
*demand* it! ^_^ I have seen some try the `I'm not gonna post the rest of
this unless I get some C&C' tack but I must admit that that tends to get at
least my back up :) and I'm less likely to respond to a fic if I see that.
Perhaps there are simply too many fics being posted and people feel somewhat
overwhelmed, but then again I've so much time to read (no business at present
:( ) that I wouldn't like to see the volume go down.
After all, both of us have worked our butts out making our
individual fics here. Most other newbie authors must have the same problems.
From what I've read I think many of the `established' ones do also.
This may or may not be true but heck, I think it is.....
I wonder if the amount of C&C has fallen/risen over the past year or
two. How long has the FFML been operating? I also wonder whether the hiatus
in RAAC did some damage or helped the FFML? I certainly wouldn't have heard
of it had not RAAC died temporarily.
NOTE: I do hope Craig won't kill me for voicing our complains out...
Not yet; oh no; not *just* yet! <much maniacal laughter> Seriously, I
don't mind in the least. ^_^
PSS: I've read partially all those regarding things concerning C&C.
What do you expect from a guy who's trying to read every ML he
gets. I lurk most of the times but am trying to get rid of the
habit.
That brings up another point. I'm usually so busy with reading fics
that I get very little time to join in general discussion. I wonder if those
authors who do the latter get more C&C, simply because the others on the list
feel they know them on a more personal level?
Radler
Whew; this was a little longer than I intended. Still... ^_^
