What I propose is a kind of informal rule which isn't there to be
enforced, just a kind of fanettiquette thing.
If some C&C comes your way. Keep note of who
sent it and, the next time they publish something, perhaps go a
little out of your way to give some advice or even just a 'hey thats
really cool'.
Good advice. Makes sense to me. If I can actually get through my
folder of unread stories, I'd be happy to make some comments.
Unfortunately, that is one of the real problems. Many people
don't have enough time to C&C because they have so much mail to read
or they have lives to lead.
I occasionally try to drop a remark, comment, or compliment now and then
when I can. It's hard to do it all the time, however, so I understand
what it feels like when an author doesn't get much response to their work.
Sometimes a leaky tear duct, or plea for help actually DOES work though. ;)
