Ranma Saotome - as the gritty, hard hitting detecitive

Ukyo - as the diner owner (Uuchan's where a cup of joe comes with
obligatory okanamayaki) who has feelings for that dumb paluka, too bad
he still thinks of her as a friend

Shampoo - as the sultry chinese singer (sing's at the Cat's Meow, Nite
club and triad hang out) who has the hot's for a certain no luck gumshoe

Mousse - the lethal triad enforcer who doesn't take too kindly to ANYONE
making moony eyes with his woman (to bad Shampoo doesn't seem to care)

The Kuno's - insane brother/sister pair who have taken up the role of
leader for the most powerful crime syndicate in the city (non-triad)

Nabiki - the Kuno's rackateer and controller of all the sundicates
financial matters. If only her father would accept the cash she offers
to keep her family afloat.

Ryouga - Ex-boxer turned mob enforcer and bouncer. Has a lot to blame
that DICK for, also owes him his life.

The Tendo's - A once wealthy family that has since fallen on hard times
due to the death of Mrs. Tendo and bad mananging on Mr. Tendo's part.

Soun and Genma- Police officers and partners (yep, comic relief ;)

Akane - Soun's daughter who believes she has just as much right to be a
police officer as any male.

Great God Mother - triad boss and owner of the Cat's Meow

Happosai - Good for nothing mayor, a drunkard and womanizer

        I might even throw Tarou in as a freelance assasign, just for fun...
