Hiya! This is a SPECIAL session of Slashtooth's Semi-Daily Reviews!
This time there are only Two fics on the chopping block. The First one
is from an author that asked me, and I decided for one to make the
exeption that proves the rule, so i will review Purple Haired Destiny.
Second, Due to a letter that I have already responded to, I am going to
review Ranma-Chan Chapters 1-3. So, On with the show!

First, Purple Haired Destiny, Parts 1 and 2 by Ryan Anderson. Hmmmm,
what to say, what to say. I read both parts, took a while... You realy
need an editor, that much is evident, there are a lot of grammatical
errors. Beyond that, I must say that your protrayal of Nokoka is very
good. To be so rooted in her honor that she allowed her husband and son
to leave for ten years without any type of support for her, i could
actually see her making Ranma carry out the pledge. However, I must
also state that you are travelling on thin ice with this one. Be
careful, write well, for you have an interesting storyline forming
here. Ukyou and Shampoo travelling with Ranma, Genma nowhere to be
seen, Mousse going even more nuts, this could easily evolve into one of
the really good story, or deevolve into one of the worst. Good luck,
and remember, Balance is always a prudent course.

Next on the block, Ranma-Chan Chapters 1-3 by Luigi Mattera. This fic
is one that I kinda enjoyed reading. It says it's a sadfic, and while I
kinda felt sad when i read it, there was one thing that stuck in my mind
when i finished it. A small change to the ending could increase the
value of the fic a hundredfold. Here is the revised (by me) ending that
really seems to fit.

Nodoka Slumped to the ground, shocked at what had just happened. Ranma
had hit Akane. Not only did Ranma strike her fiancee, she absolutly
decked the girl. Akane was still in shock over the incident. Nodoka
closed her eyes for a few moments, then slowly stood up, wondering how
things could have gone so Horribly wrong. Nodoka looked down at the
package she always carried. Slowly, carefully, she picked it up,
turning it over and over. Pain evident on her face, she unwrapped the
package she carried for so long. The wrapping fell to the floor, the
katana revealed. Nodoka released the sword from the sheath, staring at
the blade hard for several minutes.

Nodoka's face contorted. Ranma never hit Akane. No matter how many
times Akane attacked Ranma, no matter how many times Ranma was at the
mercy of Akane's violence, he never struck her back, never deserted
her. Nodoka finally realised that her son was dead, killed by the same
violence that had never harmed her before, killed by an accident that
only Ranma could have.

With a savage cry, she raised the katana above her head, bringing it
down side first onto one of the paving stones in the yard. The blade
snapped, the tip skittering across the yard. Honor had forced her son
away from her, Honor had lost her husband for so long, Honor had taken
the joy from her life. Kikuchi Ami's words sprung into her mind, the
full impact of them finally coming to her. *Ranma-chan needs a mother,
plain and simple.* Honor had cost her her son, she would be damned if
she would lose her daughter the same way. Slowly she turned, her eyes
still closed, and headed into the Tendo home.

Akane sat in the koi pond, the chill of the water sinking into her
bones. Akane had not fallen into the pond in years, accidentaly or
otherwise. She lsot count of the number of times Ranma had landed in
this exact same spot, either by Ranma's father or her own hands. For
the previous year, she had tried to impress her fiancee, but everything
she had tried turned to ruin. Cooking, making gifts, everything she
tried turned to ruin. She finally began to understand why Ranma had
stayed with her for so long, even though there were other girls in the
area that were more attractive and loving.

Akane simply couldn't get angry at the girl that was her fiancee. She
had spent a good portion of her life angry after her mother had died.
Anger came easy to her, and she inflicted it on Ranma far too often.
Oh, once he had tried to stop her, but she became so enraged that she
had nearly killed him. Ranma _knew_ how dangerous she was while wearing
the dogi that gave her the super strength, yet he tried to stop her from
hurting anyone. She had become even more enraged at him, however, when
he had tried to take away her right of anger.

What had Akane's anger done for her? It had kept her from her fiancee,
yet despite all of Ranma's faults, she had loved him. All she had to do
was tell him that, but instead she had listened to her anger instead of
her heart, and almost killed the one she loved. Through all the
insults, it finally became evident that Ranma didn't care about the
failed attempts she had made to impress him, because he already loved
her. She had been as blined to Ranma's feelings just like all the other
suitors that swarmed around him.

What was worse was that she had attacked an innocent girl. Now Ranma
hated her, and it was all her fault. the girl had done nothing to her,
nothing at all. Akane looked down, the realisation of what had
transpired the past few days striking her fully. No wonder why Ranma
was cured. No wonder he couldn't remember anything. Akane-kun stepped
out of the koi pond, now knowing that Ranma's curse was the only reason
even a small part of him, or her, was alive. Akane-kun swore to himself
that since he had failed so badly once, he would not lose this chance at
love.

Well, what do you think? I hope you like it.

Ok, that's it for now. I have become hooked on Armorgeddon, so haven't
been writing recently. That should change in the next coupla days tho,
as that little creative spurt seems to have gotten me back in the mood.
Later all!
