This story is an excellent addition to the Nuku-Nuku cycle of stories.
How do you do it?  Other folks write *to* the generalities, but
you write *beyond* them.  My fiance's favorite line from "Jurassic
Park" (the novel) is "Life finds a way."  This is exactly the point 
I've seen you trying to make in the whole cycle of stories.
