The process the casual writer and the professional writer does to
prepare him or her self for writing a fanfic is most important. To
some its habit, others its to get in the mood. Its the processes we
follow that may be what makes us different types of writers.
So my question is this:
What do you do to get in the mood for Fanfic Writing?
Heh, I just KNEW you guys were waiting with baited (catch anything?)
breaths for my response. How DOES one get in the mood to write fics this
bad? Hmmmmmm...Zoloft, Zingers and Jolt cola ;)
Actually, most of my stories start from single scenes that push their
way through my crowded brain, demanding attention. If I don't respond, I
suffer the horrors of unfocused trains of thought (I once spent 18 hours
wondering where my Dr.Pepper had gotten off to). I'm also a sucker for
challenges, if you think you've found a concept too taboo or too
twisted, chances are that I'll give it a whirl.
While I avoid trying to force the mood, there are a few CD's I listen
to when trying to generate new ideas. X-files CD, Evangelion CD, Ranma
Openers CD, Gundam Wing CD, Please Save My Earth CD and Fushi Yugi CD
are some of my favorites for mood music.
(And the Moon was as blood, the Storms crashed and the Seas BOILED!)
(Typical, thought the Lobsters)
