Is it absolutely certain that there are no others left on the
world aside for Pai and Kayan? And... they're powerful, right? What
kind of abilities does a sanjyain have?
Try god-like. Sanjiyan can make humans invincible and immortal (they
can't die and if they're blown to pieces, decapitated, or otherwise
dismembered their pieces come back together) such beings are known as "wu"
and they're supposed to be a sanjiyan's bodyguard. They have a high level
of psychic power and can summon/control powerful spirits.
I haven't seen the last of the second OAV series yet, but somehow Pai is
his only obstacle to Kayan Wang's awakinging, so he tries to kill or
contain her. That's about all I know, aside from the nit picking details,
Hm. So in other words, her turning into a human would be a _bad_
thing - at least as far as the rest of the world is concerned...
No it's actually a good thing. He needs Pai's powers to fully awaken.
That's one of the reasons Pai is trying to become human. To deprive Kyan
Wang of her power (I think it's because Kyan Wang found away to drain
another Sanjiyan's power with the statue of humanity but I'm not sure).
