"Lovely," she murmured as the salt breeze tossed several strands
of her hair about. "I've never seen anything like it." She was truly
speechless and in awe by the raw emotions that seemed to swell with the waves
as they lapped the shore line. A hand reached out from behind tucking the
stray strands of snow-white hair back behind her ear. An intimate gesture.
"You're the most lovely thing I've ever seen," A masculine voice
whispered. She could hear the trace of sadness in his voice. She gasped as
the ice-fire feeling streaked down her back from his touch.
He hugged her from behind with one arm. They stood there silently
enjoying each others presence. Words would have only gotten in the way.
Sea gulls flew gracefully, and the sounds of the ocean filled the small beach
house.
He placed the snub nosed derringer gently against her mid back
angling the barrel upwards. A single tear slipped from his face splashing
against the simple sundress she wore.
She reached behind adjusting his gun arm slightly. Shock mixed with
fear ran through his body. Her hand gripped tightly on the gun keeping him
from pulling it away from her body. She had known all along. He was a fool
to try to keep it from her.
"Renard...it has to be." He shook his head brain wracking with other
options other plans.
	"No, Allia we can...."
A vision came to her mind's eye. It was one of a hunt, a relentless
pursuit, mixed with pure emotions, fear, love, hate, sacrifice, and the utter

futility of it all.
Renard couldn't believe his ears. She chuckled, an ironic heartfelt
chuckle. He felt a hand of ice grip his heart.
"My fox must always test the hounds...I love you." She said in a
mixture of amusement and weariness. Fear was nowhere to be found. She
nodded once taking a deep breath of the ocean air letting the salty sea air
fill her lungs. He pulled the trigger. The single fletchette round pierced
the
vertebrate holing the spinal cord exiting through her upper chest.
She slumped backwards never once crying out in pain; he lowered her
to the ground gently as blood began to run from the wound.
She looked up towards him as he knelt by her side. Her gaze moved
slightly looking not to him but through him. It was so beautiful, the light.
It pulsed rhythmically warming her heart. She moved to it willing herself
closer.....
By all rights she should have been killed instantly if she her body
was human as her soul was. The back up system would not last much longer.
He brushed away her bangs and placed his lips against her own.
All his sadness, regret and love swirled into a maelstrom of
of emotions were expressed in a seemingly simple kiss. He felt her body
slowly grow colder and colder. Her eye lids fluttered shut for the last time
a look of serinity on her features. Serenity, something he had searched
for his entire life something he was so close to having.
Rage coursed through his veins. Muscles contracted tightly pulling
his hands into fists drawing blood.
"The ending will be different next time," He said opening his palms
letting his tears mix with the blood he had drawn on himself. Somewhere else
in the house, a door shattered open as AD Police troopers rushed in. They
were of no threat to him.

"So Captain Davidson what is your opinion about Genaros's security?"
Kauffman said grinning behind his desk. The director of the station was so
confident with the effects of the large bribes that were deposited in the two

accounts.
"I see no breach in security internal nor external Genaros station."
He gave Kauffman a knowing look. "My superiors back in USSD headquarters
Earthside were mistaken to act on those slanderous rumors about a so-called
weapon's trade on this peaceful station."
The other man nodded in agreement, "And the pilots under your
command?"
	"Lieutenant?"
The captain looked behind him at his second in command who was
watching the transfer of K-12B's from a shuttle's cargo hold to the hanger
area through the two-wall mirror.
"Sir, the squadron is more concerned with their power armor and the
women aboard Genaros than its other activities." He replied sharply. To add
affect he studied the five shapely figures that were on the internal security
monitors in the office.
"Ah, Lieutenant" Kauffman said. He replied by inclining his head.
"I see you've sighted my executive privileges. I'm sure that something can
be arranged for your Captain and yourself." The three of them laughed; one
was false. Quickly he looked back towards the monitor screen at the five
women under armed guard, 33-S.
His mind recognized them immediately. The long hair, a rarity on any
orbital stations due to the possible dangers it caused in low to zero gravity
environments. The slim yet supple bodies. The attractiveness that appealed
to both males and females. He saw the look, the fire blazing behind their
eyes. The glimmer of hope. 'By any means necessary do not allow DD to fall
into the hands of the Communists,' The voice of his true superior voiced in
his mind. A thin smile crept across his lips.
"Renard, why don't you inform the men to enjoy some of Genaros's
hospitality. We might as enjoy the facilities while we can." The captain
said casually. "Garrison duty doesn't seem so boring here does it?"
"No sir, it does not. I'll inform the men." He replied acting his
role to the hilt. Briskly, he exited the office plan already taking shape
in his mind.
"By any means necessary..." The ending would be different this time.
