Saffron and Herb didn't BEAT Shampoo, though, did they?

Not only than, they were beaten by Ranma. So who do you think is 

better?

Saffron and Herb.  Neither of them were beaten by Ranma.  Ranma had
help both times, and he was quite clearly inferior to both.  Saffron
blew up a MOUNTAIN RANGE, for goodness sakes!  

 If you like, I can dismiss all the other more-powerful-than-
Ranma-guys as well:

Note that they were all thrashed by Ranma at one point or another. None 

of them 

are more powerful than Ranma. A match for him maybe, but not more 

powerful than 

him.

Konatsu beat Ranma, and never lost to him.  Ryouga's beaten Ranma more
times than he's lost, and Ranma does not have a single clean win over
him.  Ranma DID beat Ryuu, but in that fight he had huge advantages
and STILL almost lost.  As for Tarou... <snicker>  In EITHER form, 
Tarou has easily thrashed Ranma, and has NEVER lost to him.  Check
