Very unlikely this, Ranma is not into weapons and the Naginata is a
traditional Japanese weapon that no one in her family is likely to know
much about.

It's also not a weapon that is particularly well suited to
to extremely agile movement.

Actually, while this may be true to Japanese fighting styles, most Chinese
weapons are designed not to restrict a warrior's capacity. If Ranma and
Shampoo's daughter is indeed a fighter, no doubt she'd be extremely swift
and agile. Thus, she might incorporate staff-lance-halberd fightning
styles from Chinese schools into her use of the naginata. After all, the
spring-autumm halberd precisely has a -large- blade on its end which would
leave Ukyou's spatula in shame, and those who use such weapon can still
move very swiftly. And, after watching several battles between staves,
spears and other long weapons, I can tell that Chinese warriors are
definitely -not- impaired anytime during combat.

However, given that this daughter of Shampoo has fel, or even a double
saber, could fit her character better.
