Here's my first post to the ML. Tell me what ya'll think
<Who in the world ever came up with the idea that Jusenkyo was a
good place to train?> the bitter old woman thought to herself. Three
days ago, the accident had happened. Now, her grand...ahem...son seemed
to be cursed forever. Luckily they had discovered how hot water
restored...him...back to ...her... natural form. It was all too
confusing, and not a little alarming. Of course, her grand daughter
wasn't the only one to suffer in the accident, and now three cursed
women sat gloomily around the campfire staring listlessly into the
dancing flames.
The old woman was pleased to notice that at least they could all
activate their powers, at least in normal female human form. She had
been scared to try in her new guise as a rather large and powerful bull.
She would be a laughingstock for sure. The newfound fame of her grand
daughter would have to be repressed. The less anyone knew about her,
the less likely they would discover that she now turned into a teenaged
viking boy! At least he was good looking.
"All is not lost, old one," said the guide. Although the curse
seems hard to bear, there are many who lead happy lives in spite of
their curses. There is even a place in Japan, called Nerima, where many
who have the curse live. That place seems to be like a lodestone,
drawing many who have the curse to live there. Take your grand daughter
and her friend, and make for yourself a new life in Nerima. Perhaps you
will even find a cure for your curse while you are there.

"Students, pay attention!" called the principal. As always, the
ridiculous man was dressed in his Hawaiian shirt and looked like he had
just come in from vacation. "These two girls are our new transfer
students and I want each and every one of you to make them feel very
welcome."
The two friends looked at each other briefly before looking again
over the class they had been assigned to. There was an exceptionally
good looking guy in the back, dressed in a Chinese shirt, and with his
dark hair tied behind him in a pig-tail. She smiled at him, and was
rewarded with dirty looks from at least four of the girls in the class.
She shrugged and took her seat, very careful not to snag her skirt on
anything. She had the worst luck with keeping her clothes on, for some
reason.
She hoped she would like it here in Nerima. The events of the last
few weeks were so confusing to her, but she was starting to adjust. She
was just starting to get to the point that she might actually be with a
man, and now this happened. What guy would ever want a girl who was a
boy half the time herself? Her grandmother had been very quiet since
the accident. She probably blamed herself for what happened. <Who
cares? I blame her too!>
She missed her friends at home already. Poor Chi, especially, but
at least faithful Azusa was still with her, cursed as well. Her mother
had come down this first weekend to help them move in.
Characteristically, she had already found her way into the arms of some
old man after having been here a mere three or four hours. What was his
name again? Genma or something like that.
After school, she started walking home with Azusa. They hadn't met
anyone yet, and felt very uncomfortable so far. At least she hadn't
exposed herself to anyone yet. To her surprise, she heard a voice
asking her to stop from behind her. She turned and gazed into the eyes
of the beautiful boy from the back of the class.
"Hi," he said. "I just wanted to stop and say hello. Hope you
like it here at our school. What were your names again?"
"Mano Yohko," she said, "and this is my friend Kanzaki Azusa.
"What was your name again?"
"Saotome Ranma. Nice to meet you! Listen, I know its tough to
move into a new place, so give me a call if you need anything, alright?"
he said this last with a wink which made Yohko blush slightly.
"Uh-oh!" said Ranma. "Here comes Akane. I better not let her
catch me chatting with you. Nice to meet you again!" Ranma ran off
just as quickly as he had appeared.
"He looks nice, doesn't he?" said Azusa.
"He seems nice enough, I suppose," answered Yohko. "He's just
about the only person who said anything to us at all. Very friendly."
"That's not what I meant when I said he looks nice, silly!"
"Oh! Well, yes he looks nice that way too!" Yohko smiled. "Maybe
we can find an excuse to call him tonight!" Yohko and Azusa resumed
their walk home. Maybe Nerima would shape up to be a decent place to
live after all.
Here it is! As you can see, I'm just getting this idea started. Any
help with the characters would be appreciated, as I haven't seen all the
episodes of either anime (especially not Ranma, I've only seen a few of
those.)
