Subject: My Home Page, IE 4.0, and HTTP 1.1

Well, I figured out how to get IE 4.0 to access my home page. I know
this isn't exactly a high priority with the rest of you, but I thought
I'd share the information. Hey, you might find it useful. :)

The reason IE 4.0 could not access my home page is that, by default, IE
4.0 uses the new HTTP 1.1 protocol. The web servers on Sprynet don't
know what to make of HTTP 1.1, so they send back the "Error 400"
message.

I had to disable HTTP 1.1 (under Options - Advanced). I then had to
reboot, and then I could access my home page with IE 4.0.

However, now I can't access all of those cool new web pages created
using HTTP 1.1.

All this goes to show the risks inherent in using a beta product. :)

Eventually, I suppose, Sprynet will upgrade their web servers, or IE 4.0
will automatically fall back on HTTP 1.0 if a 1.1 request fails (it's
supposed to do that *now*; can you say "bug"?). ^_^

Thanks to all who offered to help, and to everyone who had a look at my
HTML source code. I appreciate the efforts you took on my behalf. :)
