In the latest issue of Gen 13 Bootleg (Adam Warren art), there's
a Sailor Moon riff. Grunge (big slightly dumb guy) is explaining his
idea for the ultimate HK action flick to Freefall (mallrat girl) and then
suddenly there's a page where they (as stars of the movie) are dressed as
Tuxedo Kamen and a Senshi, saying sweet nothings to each other--
It turns out to be Freefall's idea of a "romance scene", which
Grunge vetoes as likely to send the teenage male audience into naptime.
*His* idea of a "romance scene" is the hero and two nubile women on a bed
in skimpy underwear.
Which leads to this excerpt from the never-to-be-written Gen
13&1/2...
Freefall glared at her recently transformed companion.
"Geez, Grunge! Put on a shirt or something, why doncha? That
winged skull chest tattoo looks really gross on someone with breasts."
"At least *I* have something to expose, Roxanne."
"P. Chang no baka!" screamed the flying girl as she malleted
him. She looked at the hammer that had appeared from nowhere. "New
power! Neat!"
(P. Edmund Chang is Grunge's civilian name...)
