This is not a manga story, though there are other occurrences in the manga.

Kaori is *not* cute.  She seems to be extremely ruthless and heartless, has
an irritating sneer throughout the whole story, and speaks in a contemptous
tone towards everyone else, most notably Akane.

Kaori only _exists_ in the anime....
